Frequently Asked Questions
Why is it important to disinfect and sanitise our Medical suites?
When it come to disinfecting and sanitising your site, we make sure that it is done daily. By disinfecting and sanitising daily we minimise the transmission of germs. When it comes to hospitals and medical suites more care is taken as there are more chance of transmitting disease.
With COVERD19 infecting people globally, we cannot stress the importance of a proper cleaning program put in place at your medical site.
A brief list of what should be used:
Detergent, either as a solution that can be mixed with water, or as wipes, and
A disinfectant containing alcohol (at a concentration of 70% or more), quaternary ammonium compounds, chlorine bleach or oxygen bleach, or
A 2-in-1 detergent and disinfectant solution or wipes which can be used for routine cleaning.
It should be noted that a minimum clean should be conducted at the end of a workday or work shift, clean the workplace using a detergent and then a disinfectant focusing on frequently touched surfaces.
Frequently touch surfaces such as: (as a minimum)
tabletops, door handles, light switches, desks, toilets, and toilet doors, taps, TV remotes, kitchen surfaces and cupboard handles
most importantly your staff should be disinfecting, and sanitising medical equipment used after each patient.
We also recommend that an additional cleaning program is implemented during the day to further minimise the spread of disease in your workplace.
How do you clean our medical equipment & general areas?
Care is always required when wiping down any areas, in particular equipment in your consulting rooms. Depending on the type of equipment, we will use a detergent and disinfectant solution or wipes. The disinfectant we use is an alcohol base with a minimum concentration of 70% or more. This ensures we comply with heath standards and reduces the risk of the spread of infection.
As an example, the following may apply::
Wipes are used on medical equipment, phones, chair handles, keyboards, and computers.
A 2-in-1 detergent and disinfectant solution spray would be used on tabletops, chairs, window ledges, ledges, cornice boards, walls, vents and more.
We utilise several high-grade chemicals in your toilets.
Depending on your budget we can tailor the appropriate cleaning program for your site and recommendations are made accordingly.

Detail cleaning in medical offices is of paramount importance for several reasons:
Infection Control: Medical offices are environments where patients, staff, and visitors are susceptible to infections. Thorough cleaning reduces the risk of spreading harmful bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens, thereby promoting a healthier environment.
Patient Safety: Patients often visit medical offices when they are already vulnerable due to illness or injury. A clean environment enhances patient safety by minimizing the chances of cross-contamination and exposure to potentially harmful substances.
Compliance: Medical facilities are subject to stringent regulations and standards set by government agencies such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Detailed cleaning ensures compliance with these regulations, avoiding penalties and legal issues.
Professional Image: A clean and well-maintained medical office reflects positively on the healthcare provider. Patients are more likely to trust and feel comfortable in a facility that appears clean and organized.
Equipment Maintenance: Medical equipment and instruments require proper cleaning and maintenance to function effectively and safely. Detail cleaning helps extend the lifespan of expensive medical equipment by preventing the buildup of dirt, dust, and contaminants.
The process of detail cleaning medical offices involves several key steps:
Preparation: Before starting the cleaning process, ensure that all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available. This includes cleaning solutions, disinfectants, gloves, masks, and protective gear.
Surface Cleaning: Begin by removing visible dirt, dust, and debris from surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents and tools. Pay special attention to high-touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches, countertops, and medical equipment.
Disinfection: After cleaning, thoroughly disinfect all surfaces using EPA-approved disinfectants. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper dilution and contact time to ensure effectiveness against pathogens.
Floor Care: Clean and disinfect floors using suitable cleaning solutions and equipment, such as mops, microfiber cloths, or floor scrubbers. Pay attention to corners, edges, and areas with heavy foot traffic.
Restroom Sanitization: Ensure that restrooms are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, including toilets, sinks, faucets, and door handles. Use appropriate disinfectants to eliminate germs and prevent the spread of infections.
Waste Disposal: Dispose of medical waste, including sharps, biohazardous materials, and general waste, according to regulatory guidelines and facility protocols. Use designated containers and follow proper procedures for safe disposal.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure that cleaning standards are met and maintained consistently. Address any issues or deficiencies promptly to uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
Important facts to consider when detail cleaning medical offices / suites:
Chemical Safety: Use cleaning products and disinfectants safely, following all safety precautions and instructions provided by manufacturers. Avoid mixing chemicals and ensure adequate ventilation during cleaning activities.
Cross-Contamination Prevention: Use separate cleaning tools and equipment for different areas to prevent cross-contamination between patient rooms, waiting areas, and other spaces. Replace cleaning cloths and mop heads regularly to minimize the spread of germs.
Training and Education: Ensure that cleaning staff receive proper training on cleaning techniques, infection control protocols, and safety procedures. Regularly update staff on new cleaning products, techniques, and regulatory requirements.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, including the date, time, areas cleaned, and cleaning products used. Documentation is essential for compliance purposes and tracking cleaning performance over time.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement protocols for cleaning and disinfecting during infectious disease outbreaks or other emergencies. Be prepared to respond promptly to emerging health threats and adapt cleaning procedures as needed.
By adhering to these principles and best practices, medical offices can create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
